It's all coming together! My outdoor kitchen that is!

I'm so excited to share what my awesome hubby has been up to out back these last few days!  First I'll admit that I'm not the world's best bed rest patient at all.  (Gena, maybe we'd both be more successful if we started a competition of who could behave the most?) I've been much more anxious and antsy to be outside than I ever would have imagined!  I'm paying for it today, as yesterday I was back and forth to enjoy our new addition more than I should have been....which was any at all.  It's the stairs and the sloped yard that I'm supposed to be avoiding and now I know why!  You'd never believe me if I told you how often and how many of your stomach muscles you use everyday unaware and trust me when I tell you that this is a perfect example.  So, back to the couch and complete recovery obedience I go....with the pain and lesson learned countenance to accompany me!  Now back to my outdoor kitchen......

Tommy at the completion stage of this project!  Out here will be my outdoor stove, sink, and counter tops to do all of our processing and canning on!  Isn't it beautiful?  The flowers were an added touch that just made my day!  I had mentioned that I love the posts of our chicken house, so instead of buying posts, I'd love for him to do the same out here.  And he went above and beyond with this!  He and Gracie found, cut, and moved these tree trunks themselves.  It's more beautiful than I ever could have imagined!  Thank you Tommy!

And thank you to these kids also!  Aiden and Gracie worked so hard yesterday and were so proud and happy to be a part of building this for their Mommy!  I love the sense of accomplishment in their eyes!  And I LOVE the pieces of wood they used for the posts!  This is a place we will love and enjoy as a family for years to come!

Isn't it beautiful?  It even has lights!  Poor Tommy though.....he's now revealed his carpentry skills to me so the secret is out!  I hope he's as proud of his work as he should be!

And the harvest begins!  We have straight neck, crook neck, and zucchini squash, a green bell pepper, and banana, cayenne, and jalapeno peppers today!  Can't wait to start experimenting on ways to use and preserve all of this goodness!

Cass lovin' on his bubba!  These brothers sure do love each other!  Such a sweet baby brother!

Ye are the light of the world.  A city thats set on a hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 6:14-16

  2. I just love the location of your outdoor kitchen! You can certainly enjoy one of its perks, which is blending the comfort of modern cooking with nature. You even have a garden for you to harvest your ingredients! It would be nice to see your outdoor kitchen with all the appliances in place and a photo of you while cooking. =)

    Regards,
